My Personal Statment of Faith

It is my privilege to share my personal faith statement with you.

I believe that God is three persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), not three gods but, in one nature, one God. He is the uncreated creator, the Creator of the universe and all life, the Sustainer of all things and He is transcendent above all things; totally separate from His creation. He is all-knowing, all-powerful, and always present (omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent). He is totally Holy and perfectly righteous and eternally unchanging in his attributes and plans.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity (though the word ‘trinity’ doesn’t mentioned in the scripture). He is God from eternal past to eternity future, being the Word in Creation. He entered into the world through His incarnation in history as a baby, by being born of the virgin Mary, of the house of David, of the Jews, at the time of the Roman Empire. With this incarnation, he is fully God and fully Man. He was sinless throughout His entire life, with His mission being to come down to die on the Cross for our sins so that whoever believes in Him would be saved and have eternal life. I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ of His own free will died on the cross to be the sacrifice for the redemption of man. I believe that by the power of God Jesus Christ was raised from the dead,  He ascended into Heaven where, at the right hand of the Father, He continually makes intercession for us. He is our ONLY savior. He is well and alive!

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He is also a personal God and He is given to all believers in Christ during and after Pentecost without distinction at the time of conversion. His purpose is to convict Man of sin, and of righteousness, and the world of judgment. He directs Man to Christ as the Savior of the world and aids believers in their walk and growth in Christ. He also gives spiritual gifts as He sees fit, without any special emphasis on any one gift. As the statement made by International Council on Biblical Inerrancy, I believe also  the Holy Spirit, Scripture’s divine Author, both authenticates it to us by His inward witness and opens our minds to understand its meaning.

The original sin resulted in creation being cursed and death coming on all creation, including all mankind. Death and suffering entered the entire Creation and Man died spiritually and will someday die physically. Because of Adam’s fall, all men are born sinful (Original Sin), hostile and rebellious towards God and confirm their sinfulness by breaking His law continually. Man is born spiritually dead and hate God, actively or passively through apathy, with a passion. The fall affects our entire being, our soul, spirit and body.

Because God is holy and cannot tolerate sin, Man who is sinful is hated by God so deserve hell which is an absolute separation from God. Those who reject God would face His wrath and would be sentenced to hell and the lake of fire, which was initially prepared for Satan and his demons. I believe in the actual and certainty of hell, a place of punishment for those who keep Christ out of their lives and reject God’s salvation.

God created the world in 6 literal days, as it  stated in the literal and historical record of Genesis 1. God created a real Adam and real Eve ( male and female, both equal) and placed them in the Garden of Eden so that they have a loving relationship with Him, worship and serve Him. The creation was initially very good, without any disorder until the first human beings chose to turn away from God and sinned. I believe that because of this, that relationship with God was broken between humanity and God and separated from God, and that now all of humanity inherited the tendency to sin.

The Scripture (Bible)

The Old and New Testaments, both the 66 books,  were inspired by God and are the revelation of His will for the salvation of humankind. I believe both the Old and New Testaments are without error.  I believe they are the guiding principles of Christian faith, ministry, and function.

Salvation is by grace through faith (sola fide).  It has been provided through Jesus Christ. There is no other name given wherebymankind must be saved. Jesus  is the Saviour of all man kind. Those who repent and believe in him are made new by the Holy Spirit and partake of eternal life now.

Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God. God created man in a special way higher than the animals — a being which possesses a special likeness to Him, and is created in His very own image. Man is God’s unique creation — God’s final — that is the pinnacle of creation.  However, as a consequence of the fall, man became alienated from God spiritually and physically. Man is unique in his/her wisdom, knowledge, sovereignty, freedom, soul and spirit from the rest of God’s creation.
